Beyond Color: The Language of Black and White at Bedford Gallery

My photograph, “Portal”, from the series Lost Connections, is included in the exhibition Beyond Color: The Language of Black and White at the Bedford Gallery.

Exploring the complex simplicity and expressive power of artwork rendered exclusively in black and white, this juried exhibition presents a stunning survey of 80 local, national, and international artists. Featuring a diverse range of work in a variety of mediums, Beyond Color highlights the remarkable ways artists harness the stark contrasts and subtle gradations of achromatic media to convey profound emotion, intricate detail, and striking composition.

Beyond Color runs from July 12 through September 14, 2025, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 12, from noon - 2:00 p.m.

The Bedford Gallery is located in the Lesher Center for the Arts at 1601 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, and can be reached by phone at 1-925-295-1490.

The jurors for Beyond Color were Demetri Broxton, who is an artist and Executive Director at Root Division, San Francisco, CA, and Melissa Mohr, who is the Executive Director and CEO at Figge Art Museum, Davenport, IA.
