How can you be with me when you’re not with me?

Each of the 44 dreamlike black and white photographs in this book is a meditation on this question, exploring it using nature’s visual metaphors. These photographs, from the series of the same name, were made through double exposure, with one exposure focused close and the other at infinity, building a visual world that joins near and far on a single frame of film. A brief explanatory text is included.
